Something exciting just kicked off in Tacloban City—it’s the 3rd Central Philippines Tourism Expo (CPTEx) 2025, and it’s bigger, bolder, and more colorful than ever! 🎉
Held at Robinsons Place Tacloban, the three-day event started on Friday and brought together about 200 tourism experts and business owners—people who work in travel, hotels, tours, food, and more!
But wait, who are these people and where are they from? 🤔
They came from seven big regions in the Philippines:
-
Calabarzon
-
Mimaropa
-
Bicol
-
Western Visayas
-
Central Visayas
-
Negros Island Region
-
Eastern Visayas (the host this year!)
Each group is here to show off what makes their place special—from beautiful beaches, historic sites, and tasty food, to cool travel deals, resorts, and tourist spots you’ve never heard of!
🎤 During the opening ceremony, Tourism Undersecretary Shahlimar Hofer Tamano gave a powerful message:
“Tourism isn’t just about getting more visitors. It’s about building pride, helping families earn a living, and letting every region shine.”
This year’s host, DOT Eastern Visayas Director Karina Rosa Tiopes, said this is a big chance for the region to team up with tour operators from other provinces and grow their tourism business.
💼 What’s happening during the expo?
-
Business-to-business meetups – so tour companies and hotels can work together!
-
Familiarization tours – to help visitors discover amazing spots in Eastern Visayas that they’ve never been to before!
🌄 But CPTEx is not just a business event—it’s a celebration of the Philippines’ natural beauty, rich culture, and kind people. It’s also about protecting these places so future generations can enjoy them too.
From the mountains to the beaches, from the quiet provinces to buzzing cities—this expo is the gateway to the heart of the Philippines. ❤️
So, who knows? Maybe your next family vacation idea is waiting right here at CPTEx 2025!
