WARNING: Scammers Are Impersonating FL Liza Araneta!

Imagine opening your phone to see a message from a friend. They’re asking if you really just requested money. Your heart sinks. You realize someone is out there, using your name and your face to steal from the people you care about.

This is the frustrating reality First Lady Louise “Liza” Araneta-Marcos faced this Monday.

The Violation of Trust

The messages started trickling in—friends seeking verification, confused by strange text exchanges. The First Lady didn’t mince words when she took to Facebook to set the record straight:

“To be clear: these messages are not from me.”

There is a specific kind of anger that comes with seeing your identity used as a trap. Individuals are currently posing as the First Lady, spinning webs of deception to solicit money from the unsuspecting.

Don’t Fall for the Trap

The scammers are counting on one thing: your kindness. They hope that the prestige of the Office of the First Lady will make you lower your guard.

The First Lady’s advice is simple and firm:

  • Do not engage. If the message feels “off,” it probably is.

  • Protect your data. Never share personal info with unverified accounts.

  • Keep your money. Do not send a single cent.

Take Action

We cannot let these predators win. If you receive a suspicious message, don’t just hit delete. The First Lady is urging everyone to report these scammers to the authorities immediately.

Stay vigilant. Stay safe. And remember: a title can be faked, but the truth always comes to light.
