Embracing the Spotlight: Vince’s Journey into Queer Pageantry
Recently, Vince has taken the stage by storm, stealing hearts as he stepped into the vibrant world of “It’s Showtime” as Disney Princess Maristela Araneta Siguion Reyna. In a heartfelt interview with Nelson Canlas on “24 Oras,” Vince reflected on his eye-opening experience in his first-ever queer pageant.
“It’s a wonderful experience,” he shared, a spark of excitement lighting up his face. “I learned so much from ‘Miss Q and A.’ First of all, I got to experience wearing a gown and heels!”
You could sense the pride swelling in his voice as he continued, “I’m very proud of myself for being able to join queer pageantry. People can judge ‘Miss Q and A,’ but they haven’t walked in our shoes as contestants. The knowledge I gained from just participating was invaluable.”
Vince dove deep into the preparation, dedicating time to understand the issues that affect the LGBTQ+ community. “I did my research,” he explained, his tone shifting to reflect the weight of his newfound knowledge. “I learned about the SOGIE bill and realized that my participation was really about embracing the community.”
He wasn’t alone in this journey. Competing alongside fellow Sparkle star Ralph Miaco and former PBB housemates Ralph de Leon and River Joseph, Vince formed bonds that transcended the competition. “It’s Showtime” hosts added their own flair to the event, making the atmosphere electric with excitement.
Now, as a Kapuso actor featured in the GMA Afternoon Prime series, Vince stands as a beacon of hope and courage, inspiring others to forge their path, no matter the obstacles.
Vince’s adventure in queer pageantry isn’t just about crowns and gowns; it’s about love, pride, and the power of community. As he continues to shine, he reminds us all that embracing who you truly are is the greatest victory of all.
