Filipino fans around the world will soon have the chance to see Anne Curtis in a new way—through her very own wax figure at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong! The actress, TV host, and singer is the latest Filipino star to have a wax statue made, joining other Filipino icons like Manny Pacquiao, Pia Wurtzbach, Catriona Gray, and Lea Salonga.
A Special Place for Filipinos
Anne’s wax figure will be displayed alongside Manny, Pia, and Catriona starting December 9. This makes it even more exciting for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) who work and visit Hong Kong, as they will be able to see her statue up close. BoBo Yu, the Sales and Marketing Head of Madame Tussauds Hong Kong, said that they wanted to focus on celebrities loved by Filipino workers and tourists, and Anne was the perfect choice because she’s a beloved figure across generations.
From TV to the Wax Museum
Anne is well known for her role as a host on the popular show “It’s Showtime” and for her acting skills. She became even more popular when a funny moment on the show went viral, where she joked that OFWs come home to the Philippines just for her birthday, which is February 17. Anne playfully shared that this time, instead of OFWs coming to her birthday, she would visit them, especially in Hong Kong.
Anne’s Wax Figure Could Tour!
Her statue will be available for viewing in Madame Tussauds Hong Kong starting December 9. Anne herself jokingly said that maybe her statue could even tour, especially around her birthday in February. Her statue might travel to other Madame Tussauds locations, just like Pia Wurtzbach’s statue was recently sent to Singapore, and Catriona Gray’s is currently in Bangkok—the same city where she won Miss Universe in 2018.
The best part? Fans around the world could get the chance to see Anne’s figure in different Madame Tussauds museums, as long as Anne agrees.
