PH logs 3,050 new Covid-19 cases

THE country logged 3,050 new cases of Covid-19 on Sunday, the Department of Health (DoH) said.

This pushed the total number of infections to 3,637,280 with 81,394 active cases. The department said that 94 percent or 76,540 of the active cases were either mild or asymptomatic, 3,068 were moderate, 1,460 were severe, and 326 were critical.

The positivity rate was at 11.7 percent.

No fatalities were reported on Sunday due to technical issues in extracting data from CovidKaya, with the death toll still at 54,930.

There were 5,811 new recoveries.

The nationwide hospital bed utilization rate was at 34 percent for intensive care unit (ICU) beds, 30 percent for isolation beds, and 28 percent for ward beds.

Meanwhile, hospital utilization rates in the National Capital Region were at 30, 26, and 27 percent for ICU beds, isolation beds, and ward beds respectively.
