For 200 Overseas Filipino Workers, Tuesday wasn’t just another day.
It was the day they came home.
After months—some even years—of working far from their families, they stepped onto Philippine soil once again, arriving at Ninoy Aquino International Airport with full hearts and quiet relief.
Some carried bags.
Others carried stories.
But all of them carried the same feeling—
They were finally home.
They arrived on board Gulf Air Flight GF154, welcomed not just by officials, but by a government ready to help them start again.
Waiting for them were representatives from OWWA, the Department of Migrant Workers, and the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
Not just to greet them—
But to guide them.
To support them.
To make sure no one was left behind.
More Than Just a Return
The moment they landed, help was already in place.
Food.
Financial assistance.
Transportation.
Temporary shelter.
Everything prepared to ease the weight of their journey.
Because coming home isn’t always simple.
Sometimes, it means starting over.
And the government says it understands that.
“Patuloy na nakaalalay ang pamahalaan…” OWWA shared—assuring that support will continue, not just at the airport, but all the way through their reintegration back into their communities.
A promise not just of arrival—
But of rebuilding.
Every Return Has a Story
Just a day earlier, another group made that same journey home.
Thirteen OFWs—along with an infant—were safely brought back from Iraq.
Their path wasn’t easy.
They traveled through Hong Kong, guided every step of the way by Philippine officials working across countries to bring them home safely.
Behind the scenes, coordination never stopped.
From Baghdad…
To Hong Kong…
To Manila…
Every detail handled to ensure one thing:
Safe return.
Home, At Last
For many OFWs, leaving the country is a sacrifice.
Coming back?
That’s a different kind of emotion.
It’s relief.
It’s uncertainty.
It’s hope.
And as these workers begin the next chapter of their lives, one thing is clear—
They are not alone.
Because sometimes, the most powerful journey…
Is the one that brings you back home.
