Big news! The country of Egypt has officially said it needs Filipino nurses to help train their own nurses — and they’re not just asking for help, they’re asking for the best.
This decision was made after top Filipino and Egyptian officials met to talk about how Filipinos can help.
👩⚕️ Why Filipino Nurses?
Egypt said they are very impressed with how hardworking, kind, and smart Filipino nurses are. Other big countries like the United States, Canada, and places in the Middle East already hire lots of nurses from the Philippines.
So now, Egypt wants to learn from the best.
“Filipino nurses will come to Egypt and train our nurses for a long time,” said Egyptian official Osama Al-Azhari.
That means Filipino nurses won’t just work in Egypt — they’ll be teaching and leading, too!
✍️ More Than Just Nurses — It’s About Faith, Too
The two countries didn’t stop there. They also signed a special training agreement involving Filipino imams (Muslim religious leaders) and jurists (Islamic law experts). These Filipino experts will go to Egypt to learn more about Sharia Law (the Islamic law) and also help train Egyptian religious leaders.
This part of the deal was made with the help of the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos.
🌍 Not Just Egypt — Lithuania Wants Filipinos Too!
While Egypt is calling for Filipino nurses, another country — Lithuania in Europe — is also looking for Filipino workers in many jobs. According to the Department of Migrant Workers, Lithuania needs help in:
