Dinagat Islands, a beautiful island province in the Philippines, is seeing lots more visitors this year! The Provincial Tourism and Cultural Office (PTCO) said many people from the Philippines and other countries came to explore the islands in the first three months of 2025.
Let’s look at the numbers! From January to March 2024, about 60,700 people visited Dinagat Islands. But in the same months of 2025, that number jumped to 105,092! That means many more tourists came this year.
Here’s how the visitors spread out:

January had 37,279 visitors.

February saw 33,569 visitors.

March had 33,831 visitors.
Why did so many tourists come? PTCO chief Benglen Navas said it’s because of New Year celebrations and long weekends. These special days made many Filipinos and foreigners decide to visit Dinagat Islands for fun and adventure.
Foreign visitors also increased—from only 301 in early 2024 to 413 in early 2025. Although March saw a small drop in visitors, that’s normal because it’s a slower travel season and there weren’t many big events happening.
Governor Nilo Demerey Jr. shared how this rise in tourists helps the local economy. More visitors mean more business for hotels, restaurants, and shops, helping people earn money and improve their lives.
The local government is working hard to promote tourism and show off the amazing places in Dinagat Islands. Governor Demerey is hopeful that even more tourists will come soon, making the islands a favorite spot for travelers from near and far.
