Vince Maristela and Xyriel Manabat were inside the Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) house for nearly two whole months. That means they didn’t know what was going on in the outside world—no phones, no internet, no news!
So when they finally left the house, they were really shocked by the news they missed.
🎙️ In an interview with GMA News Online, the two shared the biggest, saddest surprises they found out after leaving Bahay ni Kuya (that’s what they call the PBB house).
😢 Vince Was Shocked by News About Pope Francis
When Vince got out, he heard something that made his heart really heavy—Pope Francis had passed away.
Vince said that while he was inside the PBB house, his faith in God became much stronger.
“I became more faithful inside Bahay ni Kuya,” Vince shared.
“When I heard about Pope Francis, I remembered my mom. She’s very religious. She even travels to Rome to pray.”
Vince was so surprised that he had many questions right away:
“What happened? Who’s going to be the next pope?” he wondered.
😭 Xyriel Was Heartbroken Over the Death of Famous Stars
For Xyriel, the most heartbreaking news was finding out that veteran actors Pilita Corrales, Nora Aunor, and Ricky Davao had passed away.
“I was really shocked,” she said.
“It felt like I was part of their family. I even cried.”
She was especially worried about her fellow actress Janine Gutierrez, who is related to some of the stars who passed.
“I messaged Janine right away to check on her,” Xyriel said.
“So many of her loved ones were gone. It felt so heavy in my heart.”
🏠 Why Did They Leave the PBB House?
Vince and Xyriel were the latest housemates to be evicted from Bahay ni Kuya. That means they had to leave the house because they got the lowest number of save votes from the audience during the show’s first-ever individual eviction.
But even though their PBB journey ended, their story continues outside—and fans are still cheering them on!
