MANILA, Philippines — The House of Representatives (that’s a big group of people who help make laws in the Philippines) said that the process to possibly remove Vice President Sara Duterte from her job followed all the important rules.
They made this official by approving something called House Resolution 2346. Think of a resolution like a very serious letter that explains their decision.
This resolution was written and shared by three important lawmakers: Deputy Speakers Aurelio Gonzales Jr. and David Suarez, and Majority Leader Manuel Jose Dalipe. They said that on February 5, 2025, when the impeachment process began, they followed:

The 1987 Constitution (that’s the rulebook for the whole country),

Their own House rules for impeachment, and

Other important legal rules that judges have used in the past (called “jurisprudence”).
The resolution clearly says:
“We, the House of Representatives, confirm that everything done to start the impeachment of Vice President Sara Duterte followed the law and the proper steps, especially the first three complaints filed in December.”
Why did they have to say this?
Because earlier, the Senate (another important group that works with the House) was asked to act as the impeachment court. But they sent the case back, saying there might have been problems with how the first three parts of the complaint were filed.
So now, the House is saying: “Nope, we double-checked—and we did it right.”
This is a big deal because impeachment is very serious. It’s the official way that top government officials—like the Vice President—can be removed from their jobs if they break the law or don’t do their duties properly.
Right now, Vice President Sara Duterte is still in office, and the process is still ongoing. Everyone is watching closely to see what happens next!
