BAGUIO CITY – Exciting news for local communities! The Department of Tourism-Cordillera Administrative Region (DOT-CAR) has officially launched the 4th Search for the Best Tourism Village, aiming to improve village tourism and promote sustainable travel.

This unique program started during the pandemic and has now grown bigger, with 68 villages joining the 2024 competition. The goal? Help local villages discover their hidden tourism potential and prepare for more visitors.
According to Jovi Ganongan, regional director of DOT-CAR, many villages didn’t even realize they had tourism value until they participated in the search! Now, community leaders are eager to develop their villages, preserve culture, and promote sustainable tourism.
💰 What’s at Stake?
Winning villages will receive cash prizes:
🏆 1st place – PHP1 million
🥈 2nd place – PHP500,000
🥉 3rd place – PHP200,000
🏅 3 runners-up – PHP100,000 each
These funds will help develop community programs, improve visitor experiences, and promote eco-friendly tourism.
