Exciting News for SSS Members: Financial Support is Expanding!
Great news for members of the Social Security System (SSS)! If your monthly salary credit is below P10,000, you are now eligible for the United Package for Livelihoods, Industry, Food, and Transport (UPLIFT) program. This announcement came from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) on Monday, bringing a wave of hope to many.
A New Opportunity
Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao from the DSWD shared this uplifting news, emphasizing how this expansion aims to support more Filipinos in need. Previously, only SSS members with a monthly salary credit of up to P20,000 were eligible for assistance. But now, those earning below P10,000 can also benefit from UPLIFT. “Dati, ang binibigyan lang natin ng tulong ay iyong SSS [member] na may monthly salary credit na hindi hihigit sa P20,000, ngayon, nag-include tayo…,” Dumlao explained on the program “Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon.”
It’s heartwarming to see how the DSWD is working closely with the SSS to ensure that help reaches more individuals who need it.
What Does UPLIFT Offer?
Starting October 30, 2026, eligible members will receive their assistance in four cash aid tranches, totaling P8,000. This means extra support for those grappling with the rising cost of living, especially due to increasing fuel prices linked to conflicts overseas.
Beneficiary Categories
The UPLIFT Program initially had three groups of beneficiaries:
1. Group 1: Members of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) and the Walang Gutom Program.
2. Group 2: Poor households not on the 4Ps roster, what we call ‘near-poor’ families.
3. Group 3: SSS members with a monthly salary credit of P20,000 and below.
Now, with the new inclusion, the assistance is designed to cover even more people. Members from Groups 2 and 3 will receive P2,000 until December 2026. Group 1 members will also receive a one-time additional assistance of P2,000.
When Will You Get the Money?
Mark your calendars! The third and fourth tranches, totaling P4,000 for Groups 2 and 3, will be credited to your accounts starting November 6. If you have an electronic wallet like GCash, you’re in luck! For those who haven’t set up electronic wallets, keep an eye out for announcements from your local government units about manual payouts scheduled from November 2 to November 30.
Dumlao reassured beneficiaries: “Iyon pong third and fourth tranche… ay maiki-credit na po simula November 6 sa mga GCash account or electronic wallets…” (The third and fourth tranches… will start being credited on November 6 to GCash accounts or electronic wallets…)
Progress Updates
As of now, nearly 1.5 million beneficiaries have already received their P2,000 cash aid from the second tranche, and payouts are still continuing in various areas. It’s a step forward in ensuring that support reaches those who need it most!
In these challenging times, this initiative represents not just financial assistance but a beacon of hope for countless families. Together, let’s look forward to a brighter future as we continue to support each other. Stay tuned for more updates and make sure you’re prepared to take advantage of this crucial support!
