Some people are now talking about the recent election results in the Philippines. Vice President Sara Duterte believes that something fishy happened—she thinks cheating or fraud might have taken place during the vote counting for Eleksyon 2025.
She said she even talked to computer experts who told her that the numbers from the election didn’t look right. So, she asked her group, PDP-Laban, to question how the votes were counted.
But wait—Malacañang Palace, where the President’s team works, had something to say too!
Atty. Claire Castro, the spokesperson from the Palace, said in a press conference that we should respect the election results, because 3 candidates from PDP-Laban actually won! These include Senators Bong Go and Bato dela Rosa, who are already well-known, and Rodante Marcoleta, who is a House representative.
She explained that everyone is free to dream or wish, but saying that the elections were not fair—even without proof—might trick people into believing things that aren’t true.
She also added that saying the elections were unfair could hurt people’s trust in the voting system and even in the Comelec, the group in charge of running the elections.
In short, the Palace is saying:
👉 The elections were fair.
👉 People won honestly.
👉 Let’s not ruin the truth with rumors.
So now, Filipinos are asking: Who’s telling the truth? And will this fight get bigger?
