RAINFALL ALERT: Bataan, Zambales, and Metro Manila on Watch!

Heavy Rains Loom as PAGASA Issues Warnings for Regions in the Philippines

Late Thursday night, an urgent message from PAGASA sent ripples of concern across multiple regions. An orange rainfall warning was established over Bataan and parts of Zambales due to the relentless grip of the Habagat, or Southwest Monsoon. This announcement came as the skies darkened, bringing heavy rains and the potential for flooding that loomed like a shadow over communities.

As the clock struck 11 p.m., the state weather bureau highlighted that areas under the orange warning were at significant risk. Anyone in these regions—like Bataan and various municipalities in Zambales including San Antonio, San Narciso, and Olongapo—was urged to stay alert.

But that wasn’t all. A yellow rainfall warning gleamed over Metro Manila and nearby areas, signaling further risks of possible flooding, especially in flood-prone regions. Saturated ground in Zambales (specifically Candelaria, Iba, and more), Pampanga, Bulacan, Rizal, Cavite, Batangas, and Tarlac faced the possibility of water rising dangerously. Communities within these areas, from the bustling streets of Manila to the quieter corners of Batangas, were reminded to be vigilant.

As the storm continued to brew, light to moderate rains—interrupted by occasional heavy downpours—were forecasted to lash over Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Bulacan, Cavite, Batangas, Laguna, Quezon, and Tarlac. Residents in Rizal, including Antipolo and Taytay, would also have to brace for unpredictable weather.

The message was clear: Stay informed. PAGASA urged the public, along with Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices, to stay glued to weather updates and to be ready for the next announcement, set for 2 a.m. on Friday.

As the skies continued to rumble, communities held their breath, hoping for safety and resilience. In times like these, unity, support, and preparedness become our strongest shields against nature’s unpredictability.
