QCPD chief Torre resigns amid probe on viral road rage video

Quezon City Police District (QPCD) chief Police Brigadier General Nicolas Torre III has resigned from his post to give way to the investigation into the road rage incident involving a former policeman and a cyclist, Super Radyo dzBB’s Allan Gatus reported on Wednesday.

Torre was quoted as saying in the report that he wants to show that he is not covering up for anyone and he is willing to uncover the truth in the incident.

The resignation will be effective on Thursday, the report said.

The police are currently investigating the August 8 altercation between former policeman Wilfredo Gonzales and an unnamed cyclist that was caught on video.

In the viral video, Gonzales was seen pulling out a gun during the altercation.
