The Department of Health (DOH) on Saturday logged 225 new COVID-19 cases, while the active tally dropped slightly to 10,555.

Based on the Department of Health’s latest data, the cumulative number of cases nationwide is 4,071,540.

This was the seventh straight day with fewer than 300 COVID-19 infections reported. There were 10,841 active cases on Friday.

The recovery tally rose to 3,995,305, while the death toll climbed to 65,680.

The National Capital Region reported the highest number of fresh cases in the past two weeks (1,401), followed by Calabarzon with 664 cases, Central Luzon with 332, Cagayan Valley with 289, and Western Visayas with 267.

A total of 10,656 individuals were tested for the coronavirus on Friday, and 328 testing laboratories submitted data.

As of Friday, the country’s bed occupancy rate was 18.8%, with 5,079 occupied and 21,909 vacant beds. —VBL, GMA Integrated News
