The Philippines on Tuesday recorded 196 new COVID-19 cases, while the active tally went down to 11,342.

Based on the Department of Health’s latest data, the new cases pushed the nationwide tally to 4,070,675, while the number of active infections dropped from 11,844 on Monday.

The National Capital Region had the highest number of new cases in the past two weeks, with 1,694 infections reported.

It was followed by Calabarzon with 855 cases, Central Luzon with 431, Cagayan Valley with 395, and Western Visayas with 285.

Meanwhile, the country’s recovery tally increased to 3,993,715 while the death toll rose to 65,618.

The country’s bed occupancy rate stood at 19.4%, with 5,227 beds occupied and 21,752 vacant as of Sunday.

A total of 10,686 individuals were tested on Monday, and 332 testing laboratories submitted data. —VBL, GMA Integrated News
