Every day, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) checks how much foreign money is worth compared to our own Philippine peso (₱). This is important because it affects how much we pay for imported goods, how much OFWs (Overseas Filipino Workers) earn when they send money home, and how strong or weak our peso is.
Today, July 2, 2025, the BSP released new exchange rates. So…
💬 What’s the latest update on the TOP 15 CURRENCIES in the world?
Let’s break it down step-by-step, so even a kid can understand!
🇺🇸 1. United States – Dollar (USD)
₱56.24 = $1
This means if someone from the U.S. sends $1 to the Philippines, we get ₱56.24.
👉 This is the most used currency in the world and the main measure for global trade.
🇯🇵 2. Japan – Yen (JPY)
₱0.39 = ¥1
That’s less than a peso! But don’t be fooled — Japanese prices are also very high. So even though ¥1 is cheap in pesos, Japan uses bigger numbers for prices.
🇬🇧 3. United Kingdom – Pound (GBP)
₱77.34 = £1
The British pound is the most expensive currency among the top 15. If you have £1, that’s already worth over ₱77!
🇭🇰 4. Hong Kong – Dollar (HKD)
₱7.17 = HK$1
A lot of Filipinos work in Hong Kong, so this exchange rate is important for OFWs.
🇨🇭 5. Switzerland – Franc (CHF)
₱71.13 = 1 Franc
Swiss Franc is another strong currency, especially known for its banking and chocolate!
🇨🇦 6. Canada – Dollar (CAD)
₱41.22 = C$1
Many Filipinos live and work in Canada, so this rate helps them know how much money they can send home.
🇸🇬 7. Singapore – Dollar (SGD)
₱44.20 = S$1
Singapore’s money is strong in Asia. This matters because lots of Filipinos work in Singapore as nurses, helpers, and professionals.
🇦🇺 8. Australia – Dollar (AUD)
₱37.00 = A$1
Just like in Canada, many Filipinos in Australia send money to their families — and the stronger the rate, the more pesos their families get.
🇧🇭 9. Bahrain – Dinar (BHD)
₱149.21 = BHD 1
This is one of the most valuable currencies in the world. If you earn in Bahraini dinar, you’re earning big in peso!
🇰🇼 10. Kuwait – Dinar (KWD)
No data available today — but usually even higher than Bahrain’s dinar.
Many OFWs in Kuwait get paid in dinars, so this is a key currency to watch.
🇸🇦 11. Saudi Arabia – Riyal (SAR)
₱14.99 = SR 1
A lot of Filipinos work in Saudi — nurses, engineers, domestic workers. A stronger riyal means more money back home.
🇧🇳 12. Brunei – Dollar (BND)
₱44.03 = B$1
Brunei’s dollar is almost the same as Singapore’s, because they’re closely tied.
🇮🇩 13. Indonesia – Rupiah (IDR)
₱0.0035 = Rp 1
Indonesia’s currency has very small value per unit, so they use thousands of rupiah in everyday spending.
🇹🇭 14. Thailand – Baht (THB)
₱1.73 = ฿1
Thailand’s money is stronger than the peso, but still lower than Western currencies.
🇦🇪 15. United Arab Emirates – Dirham (AED)
₱15.31 = AED 1
UAE is home to thousands of OFWs, so this exchange rate is crucial for many Filipino families.
🤔 So What Does All This Mean?
-
💰 The US Dollar (USD) is still the most powerful currency overall.
-
🏦 The British Pound (GBP) and Bahrain Dinar (BHD) are the most valuable when converted to pesos.
-
📉 The Indonesian Rupiah (IDR) is the lowest in peso value.
-
🧳 If you have family working abroad (OFWs), this exchange rate shows how much money you really get when they send their hard-earned pay.
-
📦 If we import food, oil, or gadgets, the peso-dollar rate affects prices in stores!
