Claire Castro, a spokesperson from the Palace, called out VP Sara and said her claim of being “the 2028 presidential frontrunner” is just a “diversionary tactic”—a way to take attention away from serious accusations.
The Palace says the real reason behind her impeachment case is her questionable use of confidential funds—money that should be used properly and with full honesty.
“She wants people to think she’s being attacked just because she’s popular for 2028,” Castro said.
“But that’s not the real issue. The issue is how she spent government money and other complaints in her impeachment.”
💬 What Did VP Sara Say?
In an earlier interview, VP Sara fired back, saying that someone from the House of Representatives claimed money was being offered in exchange for signatures in her impeachment complaint.
She also said:
“I’m the frontrunner for president in 2028, and they want to eliminate me.”
VP Sara also accused President Marcos of trying to stay in power or keep his family in power, saying that this is why the administration is allegedly going after her and her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte.
