Finding Family on Set: Khalil Ramos and Sharon Cuneta in “Honor Thy Mother”
In the world of film, the connections we make can be just as powerful as the stories we tell. Khalil Ramos recently shared his heartwarming experience while filming the upcoming family drama, “Honor Thy Mother.” During a media conference on Tuesday, the Kapuso actor opened up about discovering a mother figure in none other than Megastar Sharon Cuneta.
At first, Khalil felt a wave of nerves wash over him. Who wouldn’t, after all? He said, “Like Barbie [Forteza], in my first few days, I was really anxious. Miss Sharon’s filmography speaks for itself. She’s one of our country’s most celebrated actors, and I look up to her immensely.”
But something incredible happened when he finally shared a scene with Sharon. “My fear shattered,” he recalled. “She’s the kindest actor I’ve ever worked with. She truly feels like our mother on set. She cares for us so much.”
Khalil couldn’t help but marvel at Sharon’s acting talent. He described how, in those early scenes that carried a heavy emotional weight, he found himself genuinely moved. “During the take, I was shaken,” he said. “I thought, ‘Why did she do that?’ But honestly, it was a total masterclass.”
Their on-screen chemistry quickly blossomed into something deeper. In a recent episode of “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda,” Sharon revealed her own affection for the younger actors, saying she has “fallen in love” with both Khalil and Barbie Forteza. “They are among the younger artists I’ve grown closest to,” she said. As for Khalil, she admired him as a “well-raised young man” who brings sincerity to his craft.
“Honor Thy Mother,” which also features talents like John Estrada, RK Bagatsing, Mercedes Cabral, and Tonton Gutierrez—with special participation from Boy Abunda—is a collaboration of three media giants: GMA Network, ABS-CBN, and Prime Video. This exciting series is set to premiere on September 11, and given the heartfelt bonds formed on set, viewers can expect a truly special experience.
With Khalil and Sharon leading the charge, “Honor Thy Mother” promises to tug at our heartstrings, reminding us that sometimes, family can be found in unexpected places.
