Jang Theo, the rising star from Netflix’s hit reality dating show “Single’s Inferno” Season 4, is about to take on a whole new challenge—starring in his first-ever Philippine-Korean movie, “Finding Santos.”
In an interview with GMA News Online, Theo shared his excitement about working with Filipino actors in this unique film, which will tell the story of Filipino soldiers who helped during the Korean War.
Why This Movie Matters to Jang Theo
For Theo, this project is more than just another acting role—it’s a meaningful cultural exchange between South Korea and the Philippines.
“If you can collaborate with a lot of different cultures as an actor, you can be inspired a lot,” Theo said. “This movie will be deeply meaningful, both as an actor and as a lesson about the historical relationship between the Korean and Philippine governments.”
A Special Bond with Filipino Fans
Jang Theo is no stranger to the Philippines. He visited the country in mid-February and was overwhelmed by how warm and welcoming Filipinos were to him.
“They don’t even know me personally, but they always smile and greet me so warmly,” he said, recalling how Filipino fans recognized him, took photos, and made him feel at home.
Because of this, Theo wants to give back to his fans. He revealed that a fan meeting for his Filipino supporters is in the works, and it’s expected to happen in the next few months.
Theo’s Love for Filipino Food
Aside from the people, Theo has fallen in love with Filipino food! During his trip, he filmed content trying out local dishes, and two favorites stood out:
- Jollibee’s chicken with rice and sauces – “It really hit the spot!” he said.
- Sinigang – “It was shocking for me because the taste is so similar to traditional Korean kimchi stew.”
Future Travel Plans in the Philippines
Since he enjoys visiting the Philippines so much, Theo wants to explore more. He shared that he hopes to visit Cebu, Boracay, and Bohol in the future.
Having Fun on ‘TiktoClock’
Before heading back to Korea, Theo made a special guest appearance on GMA’s “TiktoClock”, where he played fun games with hosts Kuya Kim, Pokwang, Faith Da Silva, and Jayson Gainza.
With his growing love for the Philippines, his first major acting role, and his exciting plans for Filipino fans, Jang Theo is proving that he’s more than just a reality show star—he’s ready to take on the big screen!
