Tragedy Strikes at the Nepal-Tibet Border: A Devastating Mudslide

China’s Response
On the Chinese side, reports from state media indicate that the roads, communications, and power links in the Shigatse region have been severely disrupted. Rescue teams, equipped with 113 vehicles and search dogs, are on the ground, yet challenges abound. With continuous rain raising water levels, the situation remains precarious.
President Xi Jinping has called for “all-out” efforts to locate the missing and urged stronger systems for monitoring and early warnings to prevent future disasters.
