Tragic Encounter: California Hunter Killed by Elephant in Gabon
In a heartbreaking turn of events, a 75-year-old big-game hunter from California, Ernie Dosio, lost his life during a hunting expedition in the lush forests of Gabon, Central Africa. It was April 17 when Dosio, accompanied by two fellow hunters, ventured into the Lope-Okanda rainforest, a thriving habitat teeming with wildlife.
They were on a mission to track a rare species of forest-dwelling antelope when their journey took a tragic twist. Reports indicate that while navigating this verdant paradise, they stumbled upon a small herd of female elephants with their young calves. Alarmed yet intrigued, the group decided to back off, hoping to avoid any confrontation with these majestic creatures.
But nature had other plans. As the hunters retreated, the elephants charged—not out of aggression, but to protect their young.
