Dairy Production Soars 21.2% in H1 2026 – NDA Reports!

Thriving Cream and Dreams: The 2026 Dairy Boom

In a heartwarming surge of growth, the local dairy industry is experiencing a remarkable transformation. According to the National Dairy Authority (NDA), milk production skyrocketed by an impressive 21.2% in the first half of 2026. Imagine—that’s a staggering 25.38 million liters of milk being produced! Just a year ago, in the same period, we had reached only 20.94 million liters. It’s like watching our fields spring to life, filled with plenty!

But that’s not all. The NDA highlighted another bright spot: our dairy herd is thriving. With numbers climbing to 165,785 heads, that’s a 6.5% increase from last year’s 155,662 heads. Each new addition represents hope and potential—an expanding community working hard to nourish us.

And just when you think it couldn’t get better, data from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) shows a jaw-dropping 37.8% year-on-year increase in dairy production for the second quarter of this year. It’s truly a testament to the dedication and resilience of our dairy farmers.

The financial impact of this growth is just as uplifting. The value of dairy production has risen from ₱1.36 billion in the first half of 2025 to ₱1.69 billion in 2026. This increase is not just numbers; it reflects the hard work and passion that goes into every drop of milk.

You may also notice a little change in prices. Good news for farmers: as demand rises, so do farmgate prices! Cow’s milk has risen 0.41%, now sitting at ₱47.05 per liter, while carabao’s milk has climbed by 4.95% to ₱89.55 per liter. This means a little extra in the pockets of our local heroes—the farmers—who work tirelessly day in and day out.

Looking forward, the NDA has set an ambitious target: 53 million liters of milk production and a 2.33% milk sufficiency level for 2026. It’s a hopeful goal, reminding us that when communities come together for a shared vision, what might seem impossible becomes attainable.

Join us in celebrating this incredible growth. The dairy industry is not just about milk; it’s about supporting our farmers, nourishing families, and fostering a community that thrives together. Here’s to a future filled with creamy dreams and sweet successes!
