Authorities arrest suspect in California shooting that killed 2 Filipinos

In a heartbreaking incident, authorities in Los Angeles, California, have arrested Miguel Sandoval, a 19-year-old from Lancaster, for a deadly shooting on November 16 that claimed the lives of four people, including two Filipino siblings.

Christine Aca-Ac, 26, her brother Janvi Maquindang, 21, Christine’s fiancé Edwin Garcia, 24, and their friend Matthew Montebello, were all killed in the attack. Sandoval also shot three dogs belonging to the victims.

The tragedy unfolded in a home that Sandoval later set on fire before fleeing the scene. One survivor managed to hide in a cabinet and call 911, leading authorities to the site quickly.

Christine, Janvi, and Edwin were found dead from gunshot wounds, while Matthew succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.

Investigators have yet to reveal the motive behind the attack. Sandoval is currently in custody as officials prepare to bring the case to the District Attorney’s Office.

This shocking and senseless act has left the community reeling as families mourn the victims of this tragic crime.
