At Singapore’s Sentosa Island, walking is made fun with this new immersive walkway attraction

How often can you say walking is fun?

While many people, especially health buffs, like taking a walk as a form of physical exercise, some still dread strolling for different reasons, even when traveling.

Earlier this week, the Sentosa island in Singapore unveiled its newest attraction, which will make you change your mind about walking. It can indeed be fun, and they proved it by inviting GMA Integrated News and other international press members to have a firsthand experience of Sentosa Sensoryscape.

Scheduled to open to the public on Wednesday, March 14, the Sensoryscape is the newest ridge-to-reef passageway of Sentosa Island, connecting guests from Resorts World Sentosa in the north to Sentosa’s golden beaches in the south with an immersive, multi-sensory experience.

Now, when you hear of Sentosa Island, the first thing that comes to mind are Universal Studios Singapore and Resorts World Sentosa, but what people don’t know is that the island is actually home to many more tourist attractions other than the said theme park and casino, and the newly opened Sensoryscape aims to encourage people to explore the island beyond the north through a unique walkway.

Strategically situated at the heart of Sentosa, Sensoryscape is a 350-meter walkway combining nature, architecture, and technology to awaken all five senses, with an addition of the sixth one, imagination. The entire walk in Sensoryscape will take guests roughly 40 minutes to explore each attraction within the passageway. You can even reach 10,000 steps just by going back and forth in Sensoryscape. Yes, we tried and tested it.

Sensoryscape comprises six sensory gardens: Lookout Loop, Tactile Trellis, Scented Sphere, Symphony Streams, Palate Playground, and Glow Garden, each of which is enriched with immersive and audio-visual experiences, encouraging guests to revel in the goodness of nature with the help of technology.

This story was produced through a familiarization trip sponsored by the Sentosa Development Corporation.
