363 OFWs return home safely as Middle East tensions rise

They came home quietly… but their journey was anything but easy.

On Wednesday morning, 363 overseas Filipino workers—and their families—finally stepped back on Philippine soil.

Safe.

Relieved.

Home.

Their return comes as tensions continue to rise in parts of the Middle East, forcing many Filipinos to leave behind not just their jobs… but the lives they had built abroad.

For some, it meant sudden goodbyes.

For others, it meant uncertainty.

But for all of them… it meant choosing safety.

The first wave arrived just before sunrise.

At exactly 5:30 a.m., 328 OFWs and their dependents landed at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 aboard a special Kuwait Airways flight.

As they walked through the arrival gates, they were met not just by officials—but by support.

By people ready to help them start again.

Teams from the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), and other government agencies were there to welcome them.

No delays.

No waiting.

Assistance came immediately.

Transportation.

Temporary shelter.

Financial aid.

Medical checks.

Food.

Everything they needed… in that moment.

Because coming home isn’t always easy.

Sometimes, it’s the beginning of another struggle.

But they weren’t left alone.

And the arrivals didn’t stop there.

Just minutes later—around 6 a.m.—another group touched down.

Thirty-five more OFWs.

Some from Dubai.

Others from Lebanon.

Each with their own story.

Their own reasons for coming back.

Among them, 21 workers and three dependents had flown in from Dubai… while 11 came from Lebanon.

Different paths.

Same destination.

Home.

And just the night before, another 125 OFWs and their families had already arrived from Dubai via an Emirates flight.

One after another… they are coming back.

As uncertainty continues abroad, the Philippine government says repatriation efforts will not slow down.

Special flights will continue.

Support will remain.

Because behind every number is a life.

A family.

A story of sacrifice.

And now… a new beginning.
