A new kind of connection has arrived in the Philippines.
The world-famous art Portal has officially expanded to Asia — and it has chosen Bonifacio Global City in Taguig as its newest home.
This installation marks the first Portal in the Philippines and only the sixth in the world. Before Manila, the Portal existed only in select cities across the United States, the United Kingdom, and Lithuania — where the idea was first born.
Now, right in the heart of BGC.
Located along 5th Avenue at Bonifacio High Street, the BGC Portal is more than an art installation. It’s a living window. A 24/7 livestream that allows people in Manila to see — and be seen by — strangers across the globe in real time.
Through the Portal, Filipinos are instantly connected with cities thousands of kilometers away: Vilnius in Lithuania, Lublin in Poland, Dublin in Ireland, Philadelphia in the United States, and Ipswich in the United Kingdom.
No flights.
No borders.
Just human presence.
More Portals are expected to open in Brazil and other countries later in 2026, continuing the project’s quiet but powerful mission of global connection.
“Bringing the Portal to BGC in Manila, a city known for genuine warmth and a deep sense of human connection, expands our vision of a world connected not by borders, but by direct human encounter,” said Benediktas Gylys, founder of the Portals Organization.
The project is led by the Portals Organization, a global network based in Vilnius and Berlin, dedicated to creating immersive spaces that help people experience the world as one shared place.
The idea first took shape in 2016, and in 2021, the first Portal came to life — linking Vilnius with the Polish city of Lublin.
Today, that vision has reached Manila.
And in a city known for smiles, warmth, and connection, the Portal feels right at home.
