Comelec Gives More Time for Pinoys Abroad to Register

Good news for Filipinos living in other countries! The Commission on Elections (Comelec) just announced that overseas Filipinos now have more time to sign up for online voting in the 2025 national elections.

📅 You now have until Monday, May 12 at 12 noon (Philippine time) to enroll and be able to vote through the internet!

🗳️ What’s This About?

This is all part of the Internet Voting system that Comelec is using for Filipinos who live or work in other countries. Instead of going to an embassy or consulate, they can now vote using their phone, tablet, or computer — as long as they enroll first.

👨‍💻 Enrolling just takes about five minutes, and voting will take only two minutes, according to Comelec Chairman George Garcia. Super fast!

He said in a radio interview:

“To our fellow Filipinos abroad, we decided to give you more time to register. You can still enroll until 12 noon tomorrow!”

To be able to vote online, overseas voters must go to this website:

Once you sign up on the Online Voting and Counting System (OVCS), you’re all set to vote online.

📆 Key Dates to Remember

Voting started on April 13
Enrollment deadline is now extended to May 12 at 12 noon (PST)
Voting ends at 7 p.m. on May 12 (but if you’re already logged in by then, you can still finish voting by 7:15 p.m.)

If you’re not logged in by 7 p.m., you won’t be able to vote anymore. So don’t be late!

📊 What Else Do We Know?

As of May 6, about 200,000 Filipinos living abroad already signed up for internet voting since Comelec opened enrollment on March 20.

In total, there are about 1.2 million registered overseas Filipino voters out of the 69.6 million total voters for this election. That’s a lot of kababayans making their voices heard!

🛑 Reminder: Comelec says they can’t say how many people have already voted — the law doesn’t allow it until voting ends.
