Vice President Sara Duterte recently shared something surprising—she said she might be arrested by an international group called the International Criminal Court (ICC). This group checks if leaders around the world have done anything really wrong, like hurting people unfairly.
Sara said she’s not the only one on the list. Some other people are also named, like:
-
Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa
-
Former police chief Oscar Albayalde
-
Police Generals Vicente Danao and Romeo Caramat
Sara also said that her visits to her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, while he was in a special prison in another country (Netherlands), were being secretly recorded. She thinks this might be part of why she’s on the list.
She mentioned that if she gets arrested while she’s in another country like the Netherlands, she would ask a lawyer for help right away. But if it happens in the Philippines, she said, “Let’s see what the government will do.”
Some people have said that Sara helped start a police plan called “Oplan Tokhang”, which was used during the anti-drug campaign. But Sara strongly said this is not true and challenged those people to bring their accusations to a real court in the Philippines.
