From holding posts as a hardline nationalist and information minister to becoming Serbia’s prime minister and later its president, his influence remains strong. While he has maneuvered through various alliances—seeking ties with the likes of China and Russia—he has kept a long-term focus on joining the European Union and fostering relationships with the United States and Israel.

His term faced significant scrutiny after a tragic incident in November 2024, when an awning at a newly reconstructed railway station in Novi Sad collapsed, claiming 16 lives.
