Ukrainian Drone Strikes Russian Factory—What Happened?

Late at night, a Ukrainian drone flew deep into Russia’s Volga River region and struck an industrial facility in Chuvashia, about 1,300 km (800 miles) from Ukraine. This is one of the farthest attacks yet inside Russia since the war began! 🚨

📍 Where Did the Attack Happen?

The drone hit the Kombinat Burevestnik facility in the capital city of Cheboksary, Chuvashia. Emergency teams rushed to the scene, but thankfully, no one was hurt, according to Chuvashia Governor Oleg Nikolayev. However, details about the damage are still unclear.

🚁 Russia Claims It Shot Down 88 Drones!

Russian officials said their air defense systems worked overnight, shooting down a total of 88 Ukrainian drones over different regions, including:

52 drones in Belgorod (near Ukraine)
13 drones in Lipetsk
9 drones in Rostov
✔ Others in Voronezh, Astrakhan, Krasnodar, Ryazan, and Kursk

🏭 Were Oil Refineries Targeted?

Unofficial reports suggest that some of these drones aimed at oil refineries in Ryazan and Lipetsk—facilities that are important to Russia’s war operations.

Meanwhile, Ukraine has not directly confirmed these attacks, but Ukrainian official Lt. Andriy Kovalenko hinted that the Novolipetsk Metallurgical Plant in Lipetsk was targeted.

✈ Airports Closed for Hours

To ensure safety, Russia shut down airports in Astrakhan, Nizhny Novgorod, and Kazan for several hours.

⚔ Why Is Ukraine Attacking Inside Russia?

Ukraine says these drone strikes are meant to damage key Russian infrastructure used for war efforts. They are in response to Russia’s ongoing airstrikes on Ukraine, which have been happening since the war started three years ago.

❓ What Happens Next?

With Ukraine now reaching deeper into Russian territory, tensions are rising. Will Russia respond with even bigger attacks? How will this impact the war? Stay tuned for more updates! 🚨🔥
