Heads up, everyone! A strong storm named Danas—or what we locally call Bising—is making a comeback! This powerful storm is expected to reenter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) later tonight, according to the weather experts from Pagasa (that’s short for Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration—wow, that’s a long name!).
Right now, Bising is still outside our official weather zone, but it’s very close! In fact, it’s about 335 kilometers away from Itbayat, Batanes—that’s way up in the north of the country. And guess what? Bising is not just a normal storm. It’s turning into a typhoon—that means really strong winds and heavy rain are coming!

Bising is moving northeast, heading toward the northwestern edge of the country.

It will enter our weather zone tonight but will leave again by tomorrow morning (Monday, July 7).

Right now, Bising’s winds are blowing at 130 kilometers per hour, and it can gust up to 160 kilometers per hour! That’s super strong!

The typhoon is moving at a speed of 15 kilometers per hour, kind of like a fast bicycle.

It will get even stronger in the next 12 hours!

But by Thursday, it might get a bit weaker as it starts bumping into China’s land.
🌧️ Will it rain in other parts of the Philippines?
Yes! Even though Bising is far up north, most parts of the country will still have rainy weather because of something called the southwest monsoon—we call it habagat. It brings clouds, wind, and rain too!
