Rocco Nacino Takes Center Stage at the 2026 Cinemalaya Film Festival
Exciting news for film lovers! Rocco Nacino is set to headline a captivating film at the highly anticipated 2026 Cinemalaya Film Festival. In a special report by Nelson Canlas on “24 Oras,” it was unveiled that Rocco will star in the drama-thriller titled *Tirik.*
Rocco couldn’t contain his enthusiasm about this opportunity. “It’s thrilling to learn and grow as an actor,” he shared. “The depth of the acting has truly pushed me. As I dive into this role, I’ve discovered new layers I didn’t know I needed to explore.”
In *Tirik,* Rocco takes on the poignant role of Paring Bert, a priest navigating tumultuous times in Manila amid the war on drugs. The film’s narrative dives deep into themes such as faith, guilt, redemption, and justice. Alongside him is taxi driver Santos, portrayed by another talented actor, as they both confront the harsh realities of their environment.
This gripping tale is masterfully directed by May-i Guia Padilla, with a screenplay co-written by May-i and Charlson Ong. The impressive cast also includes Floyd Tena, Chai Fonacier, Jess Mendoza, Glenn Sevilla Mas, Justin Mclaire, Brian Arda, Hershey Neri, Bor Ocampo, and Hope Summer Skye, bringing together a rich tapestry of talent.
