In Vatican City, something serious happened on Sunday. Pope Leo XIV, the leader of the Catholic Church, spoke to people from all over the world. He had a very important message:
👉 “Please, let’s stop the war before it becomes something we can never fix,” he said.
Why did he say this?
Because things are getting worse in the Middle East, especially between countries like the United States, Iran, and Israel. Just recently, U.S. forces attacked Iran’s three main nuclear sites. They did this as part of a big military action with Israel. And now, Iran is angry and says it will fight back.
This is why Pope Leo is worried.
He told the world that fighting and war only bring sadness and pain. He said that no victory is worth the fear of children or the tears of mothers.
“Even if you win a war,” he said, “it can’t take away the pain and broken dreams people feel.”
Pope Leo begged world leaders to use peace talks (diplomacy) instead of weapons. He said countries should talk to each other and solve problems without fighting.
He also reminded everyone not to forget the people in Israel and Palestine, especially in Gaza. Many families there are hurting every single day, and they need food, medicine, and safety. He said the world must not turn away from them.
“In Gaza and other places,” the Pope said, “people are suffering daily, and they need our help now more than ever.”
