MANILA, Philippines – A surprising thing just happened in this year’s Special Professional Licensure Examinations (SPLE) held overseas: 53 people passed the exam for Master Plumbers, but no one passed the exam for Customs Brokers.
Yes, you read that right—zero passers for the Customs Brokers exam! 😮
🧪 What is SPLE?
The SPLE is a special test given by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) to Filipinos working abroad who want to become licensed professionals like engineers, architects, teachers, and more.
This exam gives them a chance to earn a professional license even while they are outside the Philippines.
👷 Master Plumbers Score a Win
The SPLE for Master Plumbers was held last June in Abu Dhabi and Dubai (UAE), Saudi Arabia (Al-Khobar, Jeddah, Riyadh), Qatar (Doha), Bahrain (Manama), Kuwait (Salmiya), Singapore, and Taiwan (Taipei).
Out of 104 examinees, 53 passed—almost half of them! That’s a big achievement!
🎖 The top scorer was Victor Rafael Seciban Ngo from Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology. He got a score of 87.30%, making him the #1 topnotcher! 👏👏👏
💼 But a Sad Day for Customs Broker Hopefuls
While plumbers were celebrating, those who took the Customs Brokers SPLE weren’t as lucky.
According to the PRC, not a single examinee passed the Customs Brokers test, which was held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and Salmiya, Kuwait.
That means 0 out of all the test takers made the cut. 💔
The PRC did not say why no one passed, but the results have left many surprised—and likely disappointed.
