Philippine Red Cross: A Heartwarming Response During Undas 2026
As the Philippines commemorates Undas, a time of remembrance and reflection, the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) has been at the forefront, ensuring the safety and well-being of everyone during this sacred period.
Since October 29, the PRC has risen to the occasion, attending to a remarkable 8,721 patients across the nation. Each individual mattered, and every case was treated with care. By 9 a.m. on Monday, a detailed operational report revealed some important insights.
Out of those patients, 359 were classified as minor cases, dealing with common yet concerning ailments like dizziness, headaches, and insect bites. Others faced slightly more serious challenges such as sprains, burns, and hypertension.
However, the PRC’s commitment reached even deeper. Among the total, 19 patients were identified as facing major health issues, including serious conditions like chest pain, seizures, and suspected strokes. Nine individuals required urgent transfers to hospitals for conditions such as loss of consciousness and hypoglycemia.
In addition to medical assistance, the Red Cross offered an impressive 297 welfare assistance services. This included vital psychological first aid, food packs, and hot meals—a warm gesture for those in need. They also provided wheelchair services for 25 individuals and ensured hydration for 149 people, recognizing that even a small gesture can make a big difference.
Throughout this vital operation, the PRC mobilized a dedicated team of 1,977 personnel, consisting of 132 staff members and 1,845 brave volunteers. Together, they created a safety net during this reflective time. Their resources included 73 ambulances, 404 first aid stations, and 131 welfare desks, strategically set up across the nation.
Cemeteries, being central to Undas, saw the highest number of PRC deployments, with 349 dedicated points. But they didn’t stop there—help was also available at bus terminals, highways, seaports, beaches, airports, and gas stations.
The PRC’s Undas Operation 2026 will continue through November 3, working tirelessly to support and protect the community.
In this moment of unity and remembrance, the Philippine Red Cross stands as a beacon of hope and compassion, touching lives and providing essential support when it matters most. This heartwarming dedication reminds us all that we’re never alone, even in our heaviest moments.
