PH Pavilion Attracts 40K+ Visitors at Expo 2025 Osaka

The Philippine Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, Japan, has already impressed 40,252 visitors in just the first nine days since the event opened on April 13, according to the Department of Tourism (DOT). This exciting news shows that the Pavilion is attracting a lot of attention, with many calling it one of the “must-see experiences” at the expo.

Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco shared that the number of visitors is a sign of the world’s growing curiosity, admiration, and connection with the Philippines. She described the Pavilion as “more than an exhibition”, saying it is a celebration of culture, connection, and creativity, bringing the Philippines into the global spotlight like never before.

She went on to say that this strong turnout is a proof of the Philippines’ powerful story, the strength of the Filipino people, and the beauty of the country’s culture. “It is a triumphant debut for the Philippines, and a proud moment for all Filipinos,” Frasco added.

The Pavilion is designed to show the warmth of Filipino hospitality and introduce the world to the wonder of the Philippines’ many islands. It invites visitors to see why there is every reason to love the Philippines.

On the second day of Expo 2025, the Philippine Pavilion had the honor of welcoming Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani, the chairperson of Qatar Museums. She visited the entire exhibit after hearing about the Pavilion’s glowing reviews and her strong ties with the Filipino community in Qatar. Sheikha Al Mayassa was impressed by the Pavilion’s design and storytelling, even expressing interest in creating a similar piece herself. She especially loved how the fusion of tradition and technology was used in the exhibit.

The Pavilion’s theme is “Nature, Culture, and Community: Woven Together for a Better Future”, highlighting Filipino creativity and innovation. One of its main features is its unique façade, made of 212 handwoven fabrics representing different regions of the Philippines.

The Pavilion also includes a tech-powered storytelling experience, with an interactive centerpiece called “Dancing with Nature”, where visitors become part of the Filipino story through advanced technology.

In the coming weeks, the Pavilion will launch even more exciting features, including the Hilot Wellness Space and the Habi Gift Shop in May. Visitors can also look forward to meeting the Pavilion’s mascot, Kokoro-chan.

The Philippine Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka is truly a special celebration of the Philippine culture, and its impressive reception in the first few days shows just how much the world is excited to learn about the Philippines.
