Passengers flock to bus terminals ahead of New Year’s Eve celebration

Passengers bound for their respective provinces trooped to various bus terminals in Metro Manila to catch trips ahead of the New Year’s Eve celebration.

According to Oscar Oida’s “24 Oras” report Friday, around 70,000 passengers arrived at the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) as of 3 p.m.

The number of passengers is expected to increase by 150,000.

In Cubao, Quezon City, long lines of passengers waiting for their scheduled trips crowded several bus terminals. Some chance passengers lined up early to catch a trip.

“Matagal po alas-7  palang nandito na kami…6:30 pa lang,” a passenger said.

Amid the expected influx, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board said it issued 1,000 special permits to cater to all passengers for the holiday rush. —Sundy Locus/NB, GMA Integrated News
