MANILA, Philippines — Big news in sports! President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has chosen a new leader to take care of all things sports in the country.
His name is John Patrick “Pato” Gregorio, and he will now be the new chairman of the Philippine Sports Commission, also called the PSC. This group is in charge of helping athletes and making sure sports in the Philippines gets better and stronger.
Gregorio will take over the job from Richard Bachmann, who used to be the head of the PSC.
The announcement was confirmed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin. He sent a message saying, “Yes, it’s true—Gregorio is now the new PSC chairman.”
Now that Gregorio is the new leader, many people are curious: What changes will he bring? Will he help Filipino athletes win more games and medals? Will sports in schools and cities improve?
Everyone’s watching to see what happens next.
