Marcos, First Lady attended Coldplay concert, says Palace

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and First Lady Liza Marcos watched the band Coldplay on the first night of its concert at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan.

This was confirmed by the Presidential Communications Office after a photo of Marcos at the concert venue was posted on social media.

According to Cata Tibayan’s report on “State of the Nation,” the arena came alive with the thousands who turned up to see Coldplay on the first night of the Manila leg of their “Musis of the Spheres World Tour.”

The fans erupted with cheers when vocalist Chris Martin went onstage along with his bandmates Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman, and Will Champion.

Among the hits they sang were “Higher Power,” “Adventure of a Lifetime,” and “Paradise.”

As early as 4pm, long lines have formed and thick crowds have gathered for the first night of Coldplay’s concerts in the country.

Some came all the way from Rizal and as faraway as Bukidnon to catch the band.

The diligently fell and stayed in line as doors only opened at 5pm.

Traffic on the northbound side of the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) was sluggish on Friday hours before the concert.

As of 4:30 p.m. on Friday, a 1.9-km traffic buildup was monitored approaching the Balintawak Toll Plaza, according to Super Radyo dzBB’s post on X (formerly Twitter).

The section from Balintawak Toll Plaza to NLEX Harbor Link Interchange Northbound was moving at a slow 5-15 kph amid a high volume of vehicles.  —NB, GMA Integrated News
