Marcos celebrates ‘birthday gift” of New Agrarian Emancipation Act IRR

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. said that receiving the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of the New Emancipation Act was the best birthday gift he has received.

Marcos’s social media post, published on the eve of September 13, his 66th birthday, showed the President at the Department of Agrarian Reform headquarters in Quezon City, where he was presented the IRR of the law on Tuesday.

“[I]to na yata ang pinakamagandang birthday gift na natanggap ko sa buong buhay ko,” he said at the event, a sentiment he echoed in his post.

The law condones the amortization of principal payments, interest and penalties on land tilled by farmers.

Meanwhile, on Instagram, his wife First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos wished him a happy birthday as well. “Wishing my soul mate a very happy 66th birthday,” she said.
