Half of Voters Say “No!” to VP Being Removed – Survey Says

A new survey asked 1,200 people who can vote what they think about the idea of removing Vice President Sara Duterte from her job. This happened from May 6 to May 9, 2025.

Almost everyone, 97 out of 100 people, said they already heard or saw news about the impeachment case against her.

The survey found that half of the people said “No, I don’t agree” with the plan to impeach her. Some of them said they don’t really agree (14 out of 100), but many said they strongly don’t agree (36 out of 100).

On the other hand, about 28 out of 100 people said “Yes, I agree” with the impeachment. Some agreed a little (19 out of 100), and some agreed a lot (9 out of 100).

There were still some people who weren’t sure what to say (21 out of 100), and a very small number didn’t know enough to give an answer (1 out of 100).

Before this, in February, fewer people disagreed with the impeachment—only 45 out of 100 didn’t agree back then. This number grew to 51 out of 100 in March, and now it is about half.

Also, the number of people who agreed with the impeachment went down from 26 out of 100 in February to 18 out of 100 in March.

Here’s what happened: The House of Representatives officially started the impeachment on February 5, 2025, and sent the complaint to the Senate.

Vice President Sara Duterte asked the Supreme Court to stop the impeachment on February 18.

The survey also asked about another big news: the arrest of former President Rodrigo Duterte.

Almost everyone (99 out of 100) knew about this arrest.

More than half (58 out of 100) said they do not agree with the arrest, while about a quarter (26 out of 100) said they agree.

In March, Rodrigo Duterte was taken to the Netherlands because of an arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court.
