A Filipino-Canadian doctor, Dr. Alexander Baldonado, has been convicted in the US for scamming Medicare out of $24 million!
How Did He Do It?
According to the US Department of Justice, Dr. Baldonado took illegal bribes and ordered fake medical tests that were billed to Medicare, a government health program. These included:
Fake cancer genetic tests
Unnecessary orthotic braces
Bogus doctor visits that never happened
Where Did It Happen?
In 2020, during COVID-19 testing events at: Assisted living homes
Adult daycare centers
Retirement communities
He ordered hundreds of expensive tests for elderly patients—without ever speaking to them! Some never even got their results!

The court saw video evidence of Baldonado taking stacks of cash in exchange for signing fake prescriptions!
Because of his illegal orders, Medicare was billed $24 million, and over $2.1 million was actually paid out to fraudulent medical companies.

Baldonado was found guilty on 10 counts, including: Health care fraud (6 counts)
