Entertainment Journalist Jobert Sucaldito Has Passed Away

Remembering Jobert Sucaldito: A Heartfelt Tribute to a Filipino Entertainment Legend

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Jobert Sucaldito, a beloved veteran in Filipino entertainment journalism and radio hosting. Jobert, who touched the lives of many, left us at the age of 65. His departure was announced through a heartfelt message on the Facebook page OOTD Jobert and Chaps Channel— a platform dedicated to his YouTube show alongside director Chaps Manansala.

The statement read, “Lubos po naming ipinapaalam na ang aming pinakamamahal na Nanay Jobert Sucaldito ay mapayapang pumanaw.” In English, this translates to “It is with deep sorrow that we announce our beloved Nanay Jobert Sucaldito has peacefully passed away.”

They continued, “Maraming salamat sa inyong walang sawang pagmamahal, suporta, panalangin, at pagtangkilik sa kanya sa paglipas ng mga taon,” expressing profound gratitude for the unwavering love, support, prayers, and kindness the audience has showered upon Jobert throughout the years.

Just a few months prior, in July, Chaps had reached out to followers, requesting prayers for Jobert during a challenging time. He had been confined at Providence Hospital in Quezon City for nearly a month due to struggles with anxiety and sleep deprivation. It was a tough battle that reflected the human side of someone who spent decades in the limelight, brightening the days of countless fans.

As of now, the cause of his death remains undisclosed. But one thing is certain: Jobert’s legacy will live on. He was more than just a journalist or a host—he was a friend, a mentor, and a guiding light for many aspiring entertainers.

As we reflect on his life, let’s remember Jobert not just for his contributions to entertainment, but for the warmth and sincerity he brought to every interaction. His voice may have fallen silent, but the echoes of his laughter, wisdom, and love continue to resonate in our hearts.

Rest in peace, Jobert. Your impact on Filipino entertainment will never be forgotten. Thank you for the joy you shared and the lives you’ve touched.
