Miss Grand International 2025 first runner-up Sarunrat “Gotchabell” Puagpipat recently found herself slowing down and soaking in the magic of Camiguin, alongside her MGI sister and close friend Emma Tiglao.
On Instagram, the Thai beauty queen shared quiet, heartfelt moments from their time on the “Island Born of Fire.” In the photos, Gotchabell and Emma are seen chasing waterfalls, standing still at the famous Sunken Cemetery, and simply enjoying the calm that only nature can offer.
“Thank you for the most beautiful eight days in the Philippines,” Gotchabell wrote.
What began as work soon turned into something deeper.
The two traveled to Camiguin to film a short movie—blending deadlines with discovery. Each morning, Gotchabell woke up surrounded by untouched landscapes. Life slowed down. Moments felt fuller.
“I lived simply,” she shared. “And I discovered beauty in everyday moments—in new places, new faces, and a new way of life.”
Her stay in the Philippines was unexpectedly extended after a typhoon delayed her return to Thailand. But instead of frustration, Gotchabell found meaning.
“Thank you, Emma, for reminding me of the burnt toast theory,” she said. “Sometimes delays aren’t bad luck. They’re quiet protection. Maybe the storm came to save us from something worse—and give us something better.”
With more time on her hands, Gotchabell rested. She connected. She built new friendships. She shared stories over Filipino food, picked up a few Tagalog words, and felt the warmth that Filipinos are known for.
“Thank you, Emma, and all your friends, for taking such gentle care of me,” she wrote. “You made me feel that the Philippines feels just like home.”
It was a feeling she couldn’t shake.
“I now understand why so many people fall in love with this country,” Gotchabell added. “The kindness. The smiles. The easy laughter—even between strangers.”
Ending her post, she left Filipinos with a promise—and a playful smile.
“One day, when you visit my home, I’ll return the love,” she said. “With Thai food, night markets, sweet desserts, and warm hospitality. And yes—you can say ‘pautang’ as much as you want. That one’s on me.”
Gotchabell was in the Philippines for the “BELLMA 1st Fan Meeting” with Emma, held on February 1 at a café in Quezon City.
Emma, who was crowned Miss Grand International 2025 in Bangkok last October, made history by securing back-to-back wins for the Philippines, following CJ Opiaza’s 2024 victory.
During the pageant, Emma and Gotchabell formed a close bond as roommates—one that clearly lasted long after the crowns were placed. From Bangkok fashion events to quiet island days in Camiguin, their sisterhood continues to grow.
And sometimes, all it takes is an unexpected delay to remind you where you truly belong.
