After three long years of silence, a simple birthday message opened the door to healing.
Liza Soberano and her former talent manager Ogie Diaz have finally reconnected — quietly, sincerely, and without drama.
The moment happened online.
In his January 6 YouTube vlog, Ogie shared that Liza responded to his public birthday greeting for her on Instagram — through a private message.
For Ogie, it wasn’t just a greeting.
It was a leap of faith.
“I wanted it to be sincere”
Ogie admitted there were times in the past when he chose not to greet Liza.
Not because he was angry —
but because he didn’t want it to feel fake.
“Noong nakaraan hindi ako bumabati… hindi masama ang loob ko,” Ogie explained.
“Hindi ko lang maramdaman ang sincerity. Baka sabihin, nagpaplastik lang ako.”
This time, he followed his heart.
“Ngayon, wala na akong pakialam sa sasabihin ng iba,” he said.
“I greeted Liza because I really meant it.”
And deep down, he admitted the truth:
He missed her.
A message that mattered
In his birthday post, Ogie wrote a message filled with hope and affection:
“Happy birthday, Liza Soberano! Sana ma-achieve mo ang dream mo to make it big in Hollywood. Sana mapaligiran ka ng mga tamang tao para mas mabilis mo itong ma-achieve. Love you, Hopie!”
Then came Liza’s reply — short, gentle, and warm:
“Thank you, Tito Ogie. I hope you and the family are doing well.”
For Ogie, that message meant everything.
Despite the past, despite the pain, he said he remains grateful for Liza and the work they shared.
“Hindi ko siya puwedeng kalimutan,” he said softly.
A complicated past
Their reconnection comes years after Liza made candid revelations in 2023, during her guesting on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.”
There, she spoke openly about her resentment, her struggles, and her decision to rebrand herself as an artist.
The honesty sparked intense public discussion — and marked a turning point in her career.
Moving forward, stronger
Today, Liza continues to carve her own path.
She is set to star in “Forgotten Island,” an upcoming animated film inspired by Philippine mythology, alongside Lea Salonga, Manny Jacinto, and H.E.R.
She also made her Hollywood debut in “Lisa Frankenstein,” earning praise from American film critics for her performance.
And now — with a single message and an open heart — a chapter once closed has quietly begun to heal.
Sometimes, reconciliation doesn’t need a grand gesture.
Sometimes,
it starts with a birthday greeting — and the courage to mean it.
