4 Korean employees caught on camera stealing from NCR casino

CCTV cameras at a casino in Metro Manila caught four employees stealing at least P6 million from the establishment’s coffers.

According to John Consulta’s “24 Oras” report on Thursday, CCTV footage showed the suspects—all Korean—stuffing money into paper bags and handing them over to an accomplice.

They even destroyed a CCTV camera, but missed another.

“Physical na kinuha yung pera sa cage sa casino, sinira nila yung CCTV footages. Inimbestigahan natin, nag-file tayo ng qualified theft against four Korean nationals, pero nung time na ‘yun nagtago sila,” said NBI-NCR Regional Director Rommel Vallejo.

The casino owner believes that the suspects may also have been behind earlier reported losses at the casino.

“It’s very shocking because not only one employee did this, but four of them. After that, they resigned immediately. When we found out, they started resigning one by one,” a casino representative said.

One of the Koreans was later arrested at a casino in Clark, Pampanga, believed to be the group’s next target.

GMA Integrated News is still trying to get a statement from the arrested suspect, who is now detained at the NBI detention facility at the New Bilibid Prison.

“Sa investigation lumabas na apat silang Korean nationals na empleyado nitong casino. Malapit na rin, may mga info na tayo sa whereabouts nila,” said Vallejo.
