Comedian and “It’s Showtime” host Vice Ganda has once again shown grace and humor in handling how people address her.
In a recent episode of the noontime show, a contestant in the Laro Laro Pick segment casually called Vice “sir” while sharing his story. Instead of being offended, Vice smiled and made it clear—there’s absolutely no problem with it.
“For once and for all, let’s normalize me being called ‘sir.’ I’m okay with ‘sir,’” Vice said, her voice both light and firm.
She explained that people shouldn’t turn it into a joke. “Para hindi na siya ginagawang katatawanan ‘yung pagtawag sa ’kin ng sir kasi okay lang naman sa ’kin ang ‘sir.’ Normal lang ’yun,” she added.
Vice also said she’s just as fine with being called “ma’am.” For her, labels don’t define who she is. She has openly identified as non-binary, which means she welcomes being addressed with either “he” or “she.”
Beyond the spotlight, Vice’s influence is deeply felt by her colleagues. Co-host Jackie Gonzaga recently expressed her gratitude for Vice’s guidance and generosity.
Speaking on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, Jackie described Vice as a strict yet caring manager. “Siyempre po may pressure, Tito Boy. Kasi si Ate Vice, perfectionist… pero sobrang grateful po ako kasi nurturing din si Ate, generous din siya sa knowledge. Kung ano alam niya, isi-share niya,” Jackie said warmly.
Vice Ganda continues to show that confidence, kindness, and authenticity can break barriers—and that respect goes beyond titles like “sir” or “ma’am.”
