Manila, Philippines — It was a night full of sparkle, kindness, and purpose!
On a rainy Thursday evening, famous stars, top bosses, partners, and friends of GMA Network gathered together at the Hotel Okura in Manila for a very special pre-GMA Gala 2025 dinner. This wasn’t just any fancy party—it was a night that helped raise P2.5 million to support people affected by floods and storms!
✨ A Night That Shines With Purpose
The event kicked off the upcoming GMA Gala 2025 in August, which also celebrates GMA Network’s 75th Anniversary. Even though the weather was bad, GMA decided to go on with the dinner because the money would go to helping people in need—especially those hit hard by recent typhoons and the heavy rain from “Habagat.”
💬 GMA Senior VP Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes shared how GMA keeps growing stronger because of teamwork and strong partnerships. She also said she was really happy because the pre-gala already raised at least P2 million, and maybe even more by the end of the night.
🎤 After a song by Charlie Fleming, a toast was led by Sparkle GMA Artist Center’s Joy Marcelo, celebrating the network’s success and the good they are doing together.
🤝 Who Else Was There?
The event was attended by big names like GMA Kapuso Foundation EVP and COO Rikki Escudero-Catibog, Sparkle Senior Talent Manager Tracy Garcia, and other high-level executives. Also present were many Kapuso stars who wore their best outfits for a good cause.
💰 Where Did the Money Go?
Aside from GMA Network’s donation, BingoPlus and its Foundation gave an extra P500,000, bringing the total to P2.5 million! All of that money will help victims of typhoons, floods, and other disasters.
🌀 Storms Hit Hard, But Help is Coming
Ms. Escudero-Catibog said that the Kapuso Foundation is already doing relief operations every day, especially in badly affected places like Pangasinan and Pampanga, which are now under a state of calamity because of Typhoon Emong and the incoming storm Dante.
She explained that these two storms are creating a “Fujiwhara effect”—which means they’re spinning around each other and making things worse! But thanks to the gala event, more people will get help.
